Direct indoor tennis lighting fixtures with T5 fluorescent technology

T5 Fluorescent Direct Tennis Court Lights

Many Tennis professionals who think about direct tennis courtlighting oftenthink back to those tennis light fixtures of the 1970s that had huge fixtures all in a row the length of the court, suspended right on the OB lines, at about 18 off the floor. They did provide a lot of light however they were somewhat intrusive. Lighting is no different than most technology; it has evolved; Brite-Court offers state of the art High Output (HO) Fluorescent DIRECT tennis lighting. When direct tennis court lighting is done right it really is the best choice for indoor tennis court playability.

The Brite-Court Direct tennis court lighting system has evolved into a lean mean lighting machine. Our direct system can be suspended up to 32 and as far as 10 outside the OB lines, the fixture is less than 1/3rd the size of its predecessor, in addition a prismatic diffused lens is used to nearly eliminate any glare. One major innovation is that instead of two rows of fixture between the two courts we have condensed it to a single row with a V shaped fixture that aims at both courts. The Brite-Court Direct lighting systems have two mounting options depending on ceiling angle; For flat ceilings (pictured above)we use a linear row suspended very high 28/-32 above the court with several breaks in the row for better lighting distribution.

(Pictured Above) The tiered T5 fluorescent direct lighting system is designed for most pitched (gable) ceilings. This design was fathered by Brite-Courts founder Gary Fowler more than 10 years ago and has since become the Gold standard for Direct tennis lighting. This design creates an aesthetic design while moving the fixtures up following the pitched ceiling thus minimizing glare while providing great light uniformity.

Total Lighting Management

Micro management has become a standard in todays O&M cost management; your tennis lighting should be no different. Our Tennis Court Direct lighting systems offer switchable lighting levels for different levels of play. For example Our Tournament level system delivers typically between 75-100+ Footcandles at 8,420-watts per court, however for everyday recreational play it can be switched off by 1/3rd delivering typically 40-60 footcandles of light using only 5,615-watts per court, that is roughly 50% of the wattage used by an indirect metal halide system to achieve similar lighting levels. Additionally when courts are VACANT they can be individually switched off (pictured above-right) for even more energy reduction.
